El Ayudante utilizes medical teams to partner with the Nicaraguan Ministry of Health (MINSA) to provide medical care to those in communities with poor access to health care. Medical ministry opportunities are abundant. While doctors, nurses, pharmacists, dentists and other medical professionals are needed to attend patients, we also welcome those knowledgeable to teach mothers and children regarding health care and hygiene issues. And everyone can support the medical ministry of El Ayudante by bringing needed medicines, medical supplies, and equipment.
El Ayudante also has a medical clinic on campus that provides obstetric and gynecologic specialist care to women without access to care. Doctors from MINSA staff the clinic, providing OB/GYN services including ultrasounds for women with high-risk pregnancies. El Ayudante provides funding for the maintenance and utilities of the building while our medical mission teams support the clinic by assisting MINSA and providing basic medicines.
There are numerous ministry opportunities for medical mission teams at El Ayudante. To learn more about what’s involved in sending a team, download the Medical Ministry Guide below.
