How El Ayudante collects, uses, and protects your information.

Who we are

This website, eanicaragua.com, is operated by El Ayudante, Inc., a registered 501(c)(3) organization (EIN 62-1751716), P.O. Box 10805, Jackson, TN 38308. This policy explains what information we collect when you visit our website, donate, sponsor a child, or contact us, and how we use and protect it.

Information we collect

We collect only what we need to serve you and carry out our mission:

  • Information you give us. When you donate, sponsor a child, request a trip, join our prayer team, or fill out a contact or follow-up form, we collect details such as your name, email address, phone number, mailing address, the interests you select, and any message you write.
  • Donation information. Gifts are processed through Bloomerang and its payment processors. We keep a record of your gift (amount, date, and designation) but we do not store your full card number on this website.
  • Information collected automatically. Like most websites, we and our service providers collect technical data such as your IP address, browser type, device, the pages you visit, and how you arrived at our site. We use cookies and similar technologies to do this.

How we use your information

  • To process donations and sponsorships, and to send receipts and tax acknowledgments.
  • To respond to your questions and requests, including trip requests and prayer-team sign-ups.
  • To send updates about our work and ways to get involved. You can unsubscribe from emails at any time using the link in the message or by writing to us.
  • To understand how our website is used and to improve it.
  • To show relevant information about El Ayudante to people who have visited our site, through advertising services such as Feathr.
  • To meet legal, accounting, and tax requirements.

We do not sell your information

El Ayudante does not sell or rent your personal information to anyone. We share information only with the service providers that help us run the ministry and this website, as described below, and when the law requires it.

Cookies

Cookies are small files stored on your device. Some are necessary for the site to work. Others help us measure traffic and show relevant ads. When you first visit, our cookie banner lets you accept or decline non-essential cookies, and you can change your choice at any time through the cookie settings on this site. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though some parts of the site may not work as well without them.

Children and sponsored children

This website is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

We share the names, photos, and stories of the children in our sponsorship program with the consent of their parents or guardians, so that sponsors can know and pray for them. We do not publish a sponsored child’s home address or other sensitive contact details.

How we protect your information

We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards, including secure (HTTPS) connections and reputable service providers, to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your choices and rights

You may ask us to tell you what personal information we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it, and you may opt out of email updates at any time. Residents of some states and countries have additional legal rights over their personal information, and we will honor valid requests. To make a request, contact us using the details below. We may need to verify your identity first, and we may keep records we are legally required to keep, such as donation records.

Where information is processed

El Ayudante serves communities in Nicaragua, but our website, donor records, and service providers are based in the United States. By using this site, you understand that your information will be processed in the United States.
